Although advertising may lead you to believe it is enough to develop a web platform to launch your business and generate income, the reality is quite different. That is only the first step. Without visitors, your website would be like a store on a deserted street. On the other hand, if you set it up in a busy place, you will attract the attention of potential customers. In the digital environment, this translates into developing a digital marketing strategy that positions you on a “traffic street,” ensuring a steady flow of prospects to your website. One of the oldest and most effective strategies is email marketing. More than half of the world’s population uses email and keeps its address for an average of 10 years. In addition, it is very economical, usually with a return on investment (ROI) of $42 for every $1 invested.

Precisely, this was the topic of the MeetUp WordPress Valencia on Thursday, February 27, 2025 that I had the pleasure of co-organizing. We returned to the recurring theme of AI. The ways of working have evolved over the years, and AI has brought the opportunity to optimize the email marketing process. Our guest, Mila Coco, came to explore how to be more productive and told us, “How to use AI for your email marketing? Tips, tricks, and case studies.”
Mila is a journalist who specializes in copywriting, email marketing, and sales funnels. She has been working with large companies since 2017. Also, she teaches in masters and places like the Chamber of Commerce of Valencia. Currently, she has more than 700 students in her online academy.

It was a very personal talk that started with a very interesting question: Do you remember when you first joined ChatGPT? From there she explained her process of creating an email marketing campaign. With this strategic base, she told us how she uses AI in her day-to-day operations and left us with a very clear outline that we can easily implement.

Three phases where AI is of great help:
Repository of ideas: AI is a way to generate ideas that can be implemented in your day-to-day with different customers. This way, “…when you have to sit down to write, you don’t depend on inspiration, you already have material” – explains Mila. How to create this repository? In the images below, you can see the prompt she suggests.

Content Writing: You can ask AI to write the email. Below, you can see the suggested prompt. ChatGPT or Claude are the tools she recommended.
Text Proofreading: You ask ChatGPT to correct and improve the email.

A very interesting part of the talk was when she referred to the personal style of each copywriter, this unique touch of personality, which AI does not execute quite right, yet. In her case, humor, drama and storytelling are major strategies to communicate with her followers and clients. She ran several live tests, asking the AI to include humor. However, the results were not convincing. When it comes to her newsletter, where she uses a more literary slant, she finds it faster to write it than to ask the AI. ChatGPT tends to work for more standard and neutral language.
To close, Mila also talked about predictive sending with Active Campaign and automated workflows with Make. I invite you to watch the video to get more in-depth information.
Many questions arose afterwards, we spent about 20 minutes answering the questions of the audience. Afterwards, we went to the networking moment where we continued exchanging ideas and we joined the Python Community group, who were also doing a MeetUp at Wayco.

At the end, we had dinner: MeetUp WordPress Valencia + MeetUp Python.

A special thanks to Wayco for letting us use its facilities and to Raiola for sponsoring the drinks during the networking session and for that delicious cookie, the gift that always impresses our speakers.
See you next time!
